Melibe mirifica

Also known as Melibe viridis and Melibe vexillifera

Anyone could be forgiven for not recognizing this creature as a nudibranch, as it is one of the most bizarre of nudibranchs and given it's size (close to 30cm) and strange shape, most would not give it a second glance. However given that I had seen this in various reference books, when my guide, Opo, pointed it out to me in Lembeh Straits, I knew exactly what it was.

Some parts will need to be pointed out in order to orientate this creature in your mind.

Definitely one of the most bizarre nudibranchs and I was not surprised to find it here in Lembeh Straits where many bizarre critters exist.
