This photograph was identified as Gymnodoris impudica by Nathalie Yonow from a paper published by Ruppel and Leuckart in 1828. However it could well be Gymnodoris rubropapulosa as described by Bergh in 1905!
This example was photographed in the Gulf of Oman as almost identical to the painting by Ruppel and Leuckart.
